All McAfee suites and stand-alone solutions are being perpetually licensed. The holder of the license has the perpetual right to use the software. In order to have access to DAT files, updates, and version upgrades, a valid yearly maintenance contract is required. This maintenance contract, called Priority Support, also includes 24/7 phone support.

McAfee Perpetual Plus Licensing Program allows additional software licenses to be bought in the customer's highest previous volume discount band. Special pricing for academic, government, and medical institutions is available.

All initial licenses include the first year Priority Support.
