Business Objects Dimensions Licensing
Program Description:
An open license program (OLP) based on a rolling eight-quarter period
in which Business Objects tracks points cumulatively for the customer. Each product is assigned a point value
which determines the customer’s
discount level. This level is set by
the initial order and will change as the customer accumulates more points. Once
they reach the next point level, Business Objects will automatically re-tier
the customer so they can enjoy better discounts on subsequent purchases. There is no minimum requirement to enter
into the program and there is no reorder minimum.
What is a Rolling Eight-Quarter Period?: Points
earned through orders are accumulated over an eight quarter period. After nine
quarters, points earned in the first quarter are dropped and your points are
rolled forward into the ninth quarter (always keeping the pricing based on
eight quarters). After the 10th quarter, points earned in the second
quarter are dropped and so on.

Deliverables: License
certificates are shipped to the customer within 2 weeks of the order being
placed. The enduser should hold onto
the licenses and make note of the customer number printed on the licenses. A Welcome Kit is sent out with the initial
order only, which includes software and documentation as well as the license
certificate.
Maintenance: The
‘Software Updates’ subscription program automatically provides the customer
with access to all major and minor upgrades and maintenance releases for the
covered period. SU is only available in a 1 year option and can be purchased at
any time as long as the customer’s license is at the current version. The SU
subscription expires exactly 1 year from the date of purchase.

is available in single case and 5 case options. Both options expire 1 year from
date of purchase.
